Hello,

Currently I am in progress of gathering components and doing research for my upcoming project, M.O.R.T.Y. M.O.R.T.Y Is going to be a personal servant style robot that will roam around my house possibly making things easier for me, or just get in my way. Either way, ROBOTS ARE COOL!. M.O.R.T.Y does not stand for anything but if it did it would probably be something like Marinated Over Really Tiny Yams or something. ANYWAYS, with M.O.R.T.Y I am tring to go above and beyon the personal servant style robot concept, even to the point of being REALLY un practical. As for internal components, It is all going to be controlled via a Laptop computer that bas basically been removed from its case and the components fitted into the Robots case. (Such as the LCD in the wall of the body etc) This way I can write all the programs to control the robot on the computer and still have an operating system etc intact. It will also be connected via wifi etc, and there will be everything from a printer to a scanner in this robot. I plan on making speech recognition a big part of this robot as well. While we are on the subject of control I plan on making it fullay autonomus as well as being able to control via R/C , Wifi, and Voice.I also plan on putting a fully controllable robotic arm assembly for the more tedious assignments for the bot. Aside from the more techincal aspects, there is going to be a computer controlled Food and beverage storage area and dispenser as well. (Nothing better than a cold drink right? I have tried to pack as many things I thought I might need during my average day into this robot.
I also plan on hacking into one of those Wireless phone extenderes for rooms that dont have phone outlets, and powering it by a battery so my robot even has a fone in it. (See what I mean about not being practical .
Well I could go on and on about the features but Ill just give it a rest for now. OH one more thing. I am going to implement a remotely controlled defense system in it as well just for the fun of it. I am going to put a remote controlled flash gun in the side in line with the wireless cam on the top. (It shoots a harmless ball of fire) that I can fire from halfway across the world :).
