I am making a radio that transmits video and audio coversation with all your friends within 10 miles. You can also send morse code and typed text. I think that this could soon develope into the replacement of internet at a cheaper cost.

Ramsey Electronics Kit # TV6C does this. Their version is only a one watt transmitter. Its good over about an 100 meters if you modify it with a directional anttena you can double that. As for sending video over a mile that would be a violation of the FCC Rule part 15. Which would require you to get a license from the FCC.
I don’t see on a large scale how this would be cheaper than internet. As well as since the a good amount of people either have wireless or are heading toward wireless with messaging capabilities this seems alittle pointless. Kudos for the idea though. keep’em coming.
I am sorry to say but . . . this kind of sounds like a CB radio with video. I don’t think something of this sort will replace the Internet. Reason being, the limited range. There is no way to communicate with someone in say, London. Also, video for cellphones is being developed rapidly and will likely lead to the ability to do “videophone” soon. Very many cellphones already have cameras after all.
My opinion, you should put your efforts into something else.
Interesting concept but it has already been done. APRS is the way to go here.
sounds like a great idea, but replacing the internet unlikely the internet is global and with the advent of 128 and 256 bit encryption more secure.

I was just wondering… what frequency would you use to transmit the audio and video? AM or FM? You would also have to have a powerful transmitter to transmit 10 miles. Kind of like the new walkie-talkies that can go up to 5 miles of rang.
Have any of you heard of 3-G phones? Mine has the same thing and it is cheap enough to use when i want to comunicate with video… 30cent per minute. For walkie talkie video i have Wi-Fi, wich has up to 200 meters range… and it is a wireless internet for free at hotspots.
