I’d like to know how to use LED lights to create a unique look for rooms in my house and/or the interior of my car.

A l.e.d. is a light emitting diode. These are devices that allow one way electron flow and while a current is pressent they emit light. With any led they have a limited current load so if to much current eg. amps or milliamps is passed through them they pop.
So to start:
What kind of power source would you like to use? Battery,ac adaptor, car plug?
How many light do you want to use?
What colors were you thinking of useing?
How long is your wire going to need to be?

i think that a more ideal place to light up would be the inside of a computer it will cost ALOT with LEDs from Radioshack to light up an entire room or car. You Could use a simple 1.5v LED from radioshack which come in blue red or green what i would recommend you do is take a visit to radioshack, look at some of the LEDs find some that are cheap take down the specifications on the back of the box and tell us then we could think of a useful way to wire it
Do watch out thou the “cheap” ones are not as bright there is a big diffrence between the 5 dollar ones and the 2-3 dollar ones.
Multi color display
555 chip in monostable oscillation
attached to decade counter
transistors on outputs to different color LEDs in different places in your room.
If ud like i can post schematic.
