Im working on creating a self solving rubik’s cube. This would be a rubik’s cube that you could hook up to your computer, run some solving software and then have the program send a series of permutations to the cube. The cube would then (using servos or motors) solve its self. the cube would have to be large for this to works but after its done it presents many more functions. for instance, you could remotly solve it, you could have solving instructions that appear on the cube itself. you could have online real time solving solving competitions and tons of other things. currently i dont have any time or money to work on this but when i do i will post the results.
What do you do?

this sounds really cool. it would boggle my mind to see a computer phiscally solve a rubics cube. if you think you can do it, go for it. to me, it sounds like a longshot, but thats just me. i look foreward to your results.
Hi, I just stumbled on this website today and I’ve been reading over your future project ideas. This is a great site! Publishing your results is an excellent learning tool.
I just wanted to add that I’ve seen robotic arms that can take pictures of all 6 sides of a Rubic’s Cube and then solve it. I think once you can figure out where to place the servos, the solving part should not be too bad. I’d say many people have published examples of the instructions.
I don’t know much about how much memory they can hold, but you could possibly eliminate hooking the cube to a computer and put the instructions on a Programmable Integrated Circuit.
Anywho, good luck and nice work!
